Please note: We are currently awaiting confirmation from facilities regarding placement capacity in 2027. However, it is expected that the same sites will be able to accommodate a similar number of placements as offered in 2026. We will update this webpage in August 2026 once we have received placement confirmation.
RRM Placement Providers are listed below by Hospital and Health Service region. Click on the provider name to navigate to their profile, which also includes accommodation and travel information and student testimonials.
In 2026, MEDI7300 RCU students only will undertake a rural clinical immersion.
In 2026, all MEDI7400 students (GBCU, Ochsner and RCU) may undertake rural placements in:
- Rural Clinical Extension
- GP in a Rural Location (GPiRL)
- Extended Placement Program (EPP) - Clinical Extension and GP in same location
- Personal Learning & Development term (PLD) - very limited opportunities, see Placements tab
Please note that not all placement locations are available in each placement block.
Students are encouraged to review the Safe Rural Travel Guidelines prior to commencing travel for rural Intro Week and Placement.
