About Chinchilla

Chinchilla has seen significant growth in recent times thanks to the mining boom (coal and gas), which saw many infrastructure upgrades. Beyond the mining boom the town is a middle-sized service town for the surrounding agricultural district, famous for its biannual watermelon festival, which attracts over 14,000 visitors for the weekend of events every second February.

Close-by attractions include;

  • Chinchilla Weir
  • Chinchilla Watermelon Festival - biannually in February
  • Charleys Creek Walk

Testimonials

The medical practice is well equipped with facilities that is relevant to student learning, such as Xray, US, minor operations. The medical practice schedules some sessions with a private sonographer that comes, which is a good experience.

Lots of different experiences (GP, hospital, ambulance etc) being able to interview patients on my own.

It was great. I highly recommend future students throw themselves into the community.
