In the heart of ‘mulga country’, Charleville and surrounding pastoral properties are rich in history, flora and fauna. Today it is an important centre for the School of Distance Education and the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

Tips from previous students
Placement:
- Be very proactive at asking staff and patients for what you want to do (the worst someone can say is no)
- Go in it with an adaptable mind, with fluid expectations. And try to find the courage to step up and say you want to have a go at something.
- It is so important to have the confidence to speak up about involvement, ask to do certain things, let staff know some of the things you would like to experience, make yourself known to a wide variety of healthcare workers and to get involved and say yes to as much as possible! Get involved in the community as well as the people are great here, including other students.
Community Engagement:
- Getting involved in the community was brilliant - spending time at the golf club, RSL, Pub or down watching the local cricket/rugby team was unreal.
- The Cosmos Centre and the Bilby Experience are a must. The RFDS museum is very interesting.
- Bring swags/camping equipment! There are lots of cool places to go in the surrounding areas and it’s a really cool way to see more of the outback while you're there.
- Check out the Experience Charleville website for local events and tours
