Tips from Previous Students

  • Don't be afraid to ask to do any procedures in the hospital and don't be afraid to ask for help.
  • Get involved and ask to do things you're interested in - the doctors are very supportive and will definitely try and do what they can do support you to achieve any goals that you have. Leave your number at the hospital if you have specific things you want to see/do so they can call you in.

Testimonials

Everybody at both Boonah Hospital and Fassifern Doctors was so friendly and eager to teach and get me involved. Weekly zoom tutorials with my preceptor were excellent learning. I got a very hands on experience in both the hospital and the practice and also got plenty of time to complete assessments and explore the beautiful town and surrounding area. I could not fault this placement and would recommend it to anyone who asked.

As long as you were an active participant and were not afraid to ask to get involved, there was plenty of opportunity on this placement. Clinical staff at the hospital were always more than happy to teach and to allow you to get hands on experience. I feel more confident in basic skills because of the support provided by the medical team at the hospital.

All the doctors and nurses at both the hospital and GP practice were wonderful! They took the time to teach and gave me many opportunities to gain practical skills.

The staff at the GP practice were all very nice and willing to teach. They really made me feel comfortable and valued. The preceptor also checks in with you every week and he offers personal advice and experiences and really supports you.
