Tips from previous students

Placement:

  • Take every opportunity that is given to you, not often will you get the chance to do as much as you do out here so just be keen to give everything a go.

Community Engagement:

  • Get amongst the free training activities because they also come with great free meals! If you want some longer weekends to visit surrounding areas just let them know and the roster will be adjusted, same as if you have any particular areas of interest that you'd like to see.
  • There were plenty of activities available in Roma outside of placement - trivia night at the Royal on Thursday nights, a comedy show, Dachsund Day and we visited Carnarvon Gorge on one of the weekends.
  • The swimming pool is free. Parkrun is great. There's a Roma women's running group.
  • Would recommend a trip to Carnarvon gorge, Moorelands nursery, the gin distillery and exploring the town centre itself.
  • The Big Rig!
