Clinical Immersions
Clinical immersions are structured learning experiences that involve direct observation and participation in a clinical setting under the supervision of experienced clinical staff and healthcare professionals. You will develop clinical skills, integrate discipline knowledge, gain firsthand experience in interacting with patients and participating in their care, and further develop your clinical reasoning, professional conduct and collaboration skills. During the immersion you will have multiple and diverse opportunities to receive feedback on the development of your knowledge and skills.
Allocations Process
Special Consideration
Students may have a circumstance that will impact on their ability to undertake placements at a specific site or semester order. This is known as Special Consideration, and allows the student to apply to be assigned to a placement through a process that is separate to the usual method of placement allocation. The Special Consideration process will open prior to the start of allocation preferencing.

Clinical Immersion Group Swaps
Following the publication of the provisional immersion term allocations, you will be able to submit a swap request for your group using the application form.
Swap requests are only related to your group and can only be considered within your Clincial Unit. All applications for group swaps will be accommodated where possible, however are subject to operational requirements. The Medical School cannot guarantee fulfilment of swap requests.
