Onshore Student Placements at Ochsner
Information for Onshore Domestic & International Students
Onshore Domestic and International Students who are not part of the UQ-Ochsner MD program have the opportunity to apply for clinical immersions in Year 4 for the Clinical Extension and Elective terms. Placements are subject to availability. Please refer to UQ Learning Community Immersions for additional details.
The information listed below is specific to clinical placements at Ochsner.
7. Orientation Information
Ochsner Administration Orientation
Several weeks prior to beginning the scheduled placement, the Ochsner Clinical School Administrative Team will notify students of orientation details, including required online learning modules that must be completed prior to attending orientation. Students who have not received this information should contact the Ochsner Clinical School Administrative Office.
- Professional attire is required. (All men should wear ties). Refer to the Ochsner Professionalism Guidelines located in the Student Support and Resources section of the UQ-Ochsner website.
Required Documentation
Students are required to complete the following documents at least four weeks prior to arrival at Ochsner Clinical School. Download and complete the following documents and then upload them via Placements. This will show up as a To Do task on your home page. Click on the task or navigate to My Details and upload the documentation in the designated section under MED - Ochsner Placement Requirements.
Student Parking
All students are required to park in the Coolidge parking lot, Section B. This is conveniently located near the Ochsner Academic Center. Please review the documents below before arriving at the clinical school to ensure there are no security issues. Ochsner Security monitors the parking areas and will issue tickets with fines if in violation.
Students will receive parking decals during the orientation.
