QPASTT (Queensland Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma) is a non-government, not-for-profit organization with no political or religious affiliations providing culturally responsive services to promote the health and wellbeing of people in Australia who have sought safety from persecution, torture and war related trauma.

Annually QPASTT observes The United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture (IDAT) which is an international observance held annually on 26 June to speak out against the crime of torture and to honour and support victims and survivors throughout the world. The first 26 June events were launched in 1998.

QPASTT holds an event annually to acknowledge this day which includes reading of the global statement, a minute of silence, group reflections and a group activity for the people who gathered.

This sculpture was created by me for the basis of the group activity where I assembled the QPASTT logo out of wire, chicken wire and paper mâché on a wooden base. The participants were given a white ribbon, white being the colour representing freedom from torture, to tie onto the sculpture to conclude the event.
