Internal transfer request for MD and UQ-Ochsner
1. Overview
The Faculty of Medicine recognises that exceptional circumstances can give rise to students requesting an internal transfer (program change) between the Doctor of Medicine and UQ-Ochsner Doctor of Medicine programs. Internal transfers are currently only available to students enrolled in the MD program code 5578 and the UQ-Ochsner MD program code 5719, and will only be considered for students who are currently in year 2 of the program and who have not commenced year 3.
Expressions of interest will open to current year 2 students on 1 May and close on the 30 June, prior to the Year 3 Placement Allocation process. Students will be advised of the outcome of their application prior to the main round of preferencing.
The University understands that a request for transfer does not come lightly and is subject to numerous factors and considerations. Even though a student may meet the eligibility requirements we are also governed by the capacity of places available for the year of transfer.
