The Medical School recognises that exceptional circumstances can lead to you requesting an internal transfer between Clinical Schools.

These guidelines will provide an overview of the application process and timeline for you to apply to transfer Clinical School.

3.1 Applications will open during the annual Clinical Immersion Allocation Process.

3.2 The actual change to a Clinical School can only occur at the beginning of an academic year.

3.4 The Dean of the Medical School is responsible for decisions related to onshore Clinical School transfers (Rural and Greater Brisbane). The Executive Dean of the Faculty of Medicine is responsible for decisions related to program changes, that is, between UQ-Ochsner and UQ-Onshore.

3.5 Decisions related to Clinical School transfers are administrative in nature. In accordance with the University’s Student Grievance Resolution Policy, it is only possible to appeal in circumstances where a student can demonstrate that the decision did not comply with the University’s policies, rules or procedures. Personal dissatisfaction is not grounds for an appeal.
