North Learning Community
The UQ North Learning Community is situated in Brisbane’s northern suburbs and outer metropolitan regions. The North Learning Community offers positive learning experiences in clinical care across a wide range of settings and gives students the opportunity to work across four hospitals including a private hospital. Medical students in all years of the MD Program are welcomed.
Primary Care
In partnership with general practices across greater Brisbane, clinical placements support our medical students to be involved in multidisciplinary primary care teams in the community. Active learning occurs in a diverse range of dedicated general practices, with students being taught by experienced clinicians, engaging in consultations and interacting with patients in the community.
Caboolture Hospital
Strategically placed in the population growth corridor of the Moreton Bay Region just north of Brisbane, the 265-bed Caboolture Hospital has undergone a transformative redevelopment, opening a dynamic five-story clinical services building with 130 new beds, to serve the community with general, specialist and emergency services.
Redcliffe Hospital
Located on the Redcliffe Peninsula, only 10 minutes’ walk from the seafront, Redcliffe Hospital is a busy community hospital in the heart of Moreton Bay. A 250-bed facility, Redcliffe Hospital provides medical, surgical, maternity and cancer care, and emergency and other specialist services.
The Prince Charles Hospital
Situated in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) is a tertiary referral hospital of over 660 beds and provides general and specialised health services, including cardiothoracic care. Its Emergency Department is the second busiest in Queensland.
St Vincents Private Hospital Northside
Co-located on The Prince Charles Hospital campus, St Vincents Private Hospital Northside is a 225-bed private hospital that provides a range of general and specialist services, including significant tertiary cardiology, cardiac surgical and intensive care.
