Researcher biography

Dr Suzanne McDonald is a Research Fellow at the General Practice Clinical Unit within the Greater Brisbane Clinical School at The University of Queensland. Her research primarily focuses on the development and application of N-of-1 trials in medicine across multiple clinical specialties and healthcare settings.

Dr McDonald also contributes to the RELEASE (Redressing long-term antidepressant use) research program, focusing on health outcomes associated with long-term (>12 months) antidepressant use and the temporal features of withdrawal symptoms during antidepressant tapering.

Dr McDonald has secured approximately $2.9 million in competitive research funding for research in chronic and complex conditions across primary and secondary care.

Dr McDonald chairs the International Network for N-of-1 Trials and Single-Case Designs (www.nof1sced.org), a global network of over 800 academics, researchers and clinicians across 49 countries.
