The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) is the quaternary cardiovascular referral hospital for Queensland and Northern NSW. One of the largest services of its type in Australia, TPCH provides a full range of cardiac services including the state-wide adult congenital heart disease and heart failure and transplantation service. The Cardiovascular Research Centre, located at TPCH and the Northside Clinical Unit of the Faculty of Medicine, consists of several teams conducting research extending from basic science to clinical trials, and population-wide health services and outcomes research.
Our collective focus is improving health outcomes for cardiovascular conditions with the ultimate goal of developing new therapeutic options and translating cardiovascular research into practice to improve patient care. We receive substantial funding from the TPCH Foundation, Metronorth Hospital and Health Service, Queensland Health, NHMRC and the National Heart Foundation of Australia. Please see below for information about specific teams and research opportunities.
