January 2024

• Students receive detailed information regarding the MSPE process during the Year 4 Medical Student Symposium. 

March

• Students should begin working on their CVs, Personal Statements, and Noteworthy Characteristics for MSPE Meetings.

April

• Sit the Step 2 Clinical Knowledge exam no later than April.   

May

May 3rd

• Deadline to submit CVs, Personal Statements, and Noteworthy Characteristics for MSPE Meetings.  

May 26th

• Deadline to submit Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety, per ECP for Year 4 WLP (date is AEST).

June

Mid-June

• MSPE meetings begin. Refer to the MSPE Letter Process section.

June 28th

• Obtain your ERAS token in the ERAS Support Services section of ECFMG's OASIS. Click here to view details regarding tokens.
• Register in MyERAS with your token at AAMC’s MyERAS website.
• Once registered, you can begin working on your application and start submitting supporting documents.

July

Order Transcripts

• Order official academic transcript for residency applications. - As soon as Semester 1 grades are released in SiNet, then grades are available on your transcripts. DO NOT order until grades from Semester 1 appear on SiNet.
• We have organized a process with the UQ Student Centre to expedite this - follow the steps below.
  • Order your transcript online
  • Follow the Order Online process to order an electronic academic transcript
  • Under the Academic Record section, select "MyeQuals Transcript"
  • Under the Confirmation section, select "Immediately"
• You must order your transcripts no later than mid-August.
• UQ will send a notification to your UQ student email account with instructions on how to register your account with My eQuals in order to access and share your official transcript. Although the My eQuals system will allow you to share these documents in several ways, due to the specifics required by ECFMG, you will need to download a cryptographically signed PDF copy of your  transcript and email it to med.ocsStudentAdmin@uq.edu.au. Do NOT send this via the My eQuals system, attach it in an email.
• NOTE: Any outstanding fees on SiNet must be paid in advance in order to receive your transcript.

Apply for ECFMG Pathway

• Apply for ECFMG Clinical Skills Pathway 3 or 4 only after you have passing scores on Step 1 and Step 2 CK.

August

August 7th

• Deadline to provide transcript for ERAS application to med.ocsStudentAdmin@uq.edu.au.

September

September 1st

• Students are strongly recommended to take the OET exam in September before interview season begins.
• A general guideline of when to have all LORs submitted for uploading.​

September 6th

• Applicants start submitting ERAS applications to programs.

September 9th

• Deadline to submit ERAS applications to be reviewed by Student Affairs.

September 15th

• Applicants begin registering for the Match through NRMP website.
• MSPEs should be uploaded.

September 23rd

• ERAS applications should be finalized -  submitted and certified.

September 27th

• Residency programs can begin downloading ERAS applications and MSPEs.

November

November 23rd

• Culmination Ceremony

December

December 8th

• Students should have taken the OET exam.

December 15th

• Students should have completed the Ochsner Cohort Clearance form.
• Graduates submit official diploma and transcript to Student Affairs and ECFMG. Refer to Post-graduation - ECFMG Final Certification Process.
• Deadline to apply for ECFMG Clinical Skills Pathway 3 or 4.

January (Post-Graduation)

Mid-January 

• Rank order list entry begins.

January 31st

• NRMP registration deadline. After this date, there will be an additional fee.

February

Late February

• Rank order list deadline at 9:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time in the United States).
• Applicants must register for or withdraw from the Main Residency Match.

March

March 1st

• Match rank order list deadline.

March 17th - 21st

• Match week
