The Ochsner Society Heads and other Ochsner faculty and staff will be in Brisbane from May 6, 2024. The agenda features OMSA Sports Day, information sessions, one-on-one meetings, and informal social gatherings, fostering collaboration and networking among attendees. Details regarding the group events are below:

OMSA Field Day

Monday, 6 May 2024

Time: 12:00 - 3:00pm
Location: Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Man & Matter, The Cliffs Boardwalk 

Come out and meet your Society Heads and other Ochsner visitors in a casual setting. It will be a fun time with games, food and drinks. Students are encouraged to wear the blue UQ-Ochsner t-shirts or a color associated with your Medical Society.

Society Head Appointments

Year 2 Students

As part of MEDI7200, students are required to attend 2 individual Educational Advisor meetings per year. In Year 2, your Educational Advisor is your Ochsner Society Head. Your first meeting will take place in person during their trip to Brisbane in May and your second meeting will be conducted in October via Zoom.

All Year 2 student meetings for May have been scheduled and the booking system has closed. Attendance is mandatory for Year 2 Ochsner students to meet one-on-one with your Society Head the week of May 6 – 10, 2024.  Students will receive an additional automated email reminder 24 hours prior to their scheduled meeting. Please contact med.ocsStudentAdmin@uq.edu.au immediately if there are any unforeseen circumstances.

Year 1 Students

As Year 2 students are required to attend meetings, there is limited availability for Year 1 students to schedule a 1:1 session while the Society Heads are in Brisbane. The booking system has closed. Students who scheduled a meeting will receive an additional automated email reminder 24 hours prior to their scheduled meeting. Please contact med.ocsStudentAdmin@uq.edu.au immediately if there are any unforeseen circumstances.
