4. Student enquiries sent to you
Students who are interested in your project will make enquires directly to you at your nominated email address.
Please try to respond to enquiries within 10 working days.
It is expected that you will arrange to meet with the student and decide whether they fit with your project needs.
INTERESTED in accepting a student?
- Take time to choose the student who is the right fit for your project.
- Before you agree to supervise, discuss mutual expectations with the student regarding suitability of the project in line with time commitment and outcomes.
NOT INTERESTED in accepting a student?
- Remember it is okay to decline a student.
- If you have any doubts about the student it is better to give them a small research task which allows you both to decide if the student and/or the research are a good fit.
- Please inform the student as soon as possible if you decline.
Note: If you are away, or your project is no longer available please contact studentresearch@uq.edu.au as soon as possible to avoid students' making enquiries that won't be answered.
