Brief overview:
Perioperative care studies are essential to improving patient outcomes across the surgical continuum, from preoperative assessment through postoperative recovery. Surgical patients are increasingly older, more medically complex with increasing exposure to high-risk interventions, making evidence-based coordination of care critical.
I provide training in how to design and conduct clinical studies that are necessary to generate reliable, reproducible evidence in our complex setting. Teaching clinical research methods equips medical students on how to ask meaningful questions, select appropriate study designs, address bias and confounding, and responsibly interpret results. Perioperative investigation and education in clinical research methods drive safer care, better outcomes, and continuous improvement in modern surgical health systems. I know of no better system on how to improve patient care. Come learn in six easily steps.
