For researchers (Student research portal)
Posting a project
Before posting a project, please read the advice on supervising students in Extra-curricular research.
Step 1: The button below takes you to a form for you to enter the required information on any research project or activity you wish to offer a medical student. You may enter as many projects as you wish, however please limit the number of individual posts you enter. For example, you may describe several projects under one post called, ‘multiple projects in critical care’. We have found that it is best if the title is not too specific.
Step 2: When you submit the form you will receive an email confirmation of its receipt and a copy will be sent to studentresearch@uq.edu.au. All projects will be uploaded as soon as possible to the Portal database.
Step 3: Student enquiries about your project will be sent to you after each enquiry has been reviewed for GPA eligibility and inclusion of a CV.
Step 4: Please respond to any student enquiries at your earliest convenience, or within one week if possible. Even a quick reply is sufficient and appreciated. If the student appears to fit well with the project you are strongly advised to discuss mutual expectations before you agree to supervise.
What happens next?
If you have agreed to supervise a student, the next step is to complete the mandatory forms necessary for the student to begin. The page below will guide you to the mandatory documents for your project. Refer to the Key Contacts list for site-specific help.
Once all the necessary documentation is in place please remind your student to ‘Register their research’ on the Portal.
