James graduated his MBBS in 2016 and his MSc 2017

James was born in New York city and raised in Los Angeles, Ca. He received a BSc in anatomy and cell biology and a minor in Japanese from McGill university.

He hopes that his research will make him a better obstetrician/gynecologist.

Research

  • James’ research examined the preventability of maternal mortality in western countries.
  • It was inspired by a lecture he heard during his first year of medical school about the increase in American maternal mortality as compared to other Western countries like Australia.
  • James conducted a multi-centre retrospective cohort study of 5 Ochsner locations and 6 Queensland health facilities to characterize the preventability of maternal deaths in the two countries.
