Dr Mitchell is a Senior Lecturer in the General Practice Clinical Unit. He is also employed part-time as a General Practitioner in the Banyo Clinic and a medical educator for General Practice Training Queensland and a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
His research interest lies in evidenced based medicine and medical education. Ben is currently a PhD student, and his thesis, Understanding the evidence synthesis supporting GP registrars during consultations in Australia, is supervised by A/Prof Geoff Spurling, Prof Mieke Van Driel and Prof Parker Magin.
