Welcome to the UQ-Ochsner Doctor of Medicine program
This event is a significant milestone and important event for all commencing UQ-Ochsner MD students to attend.
Professor Ronald Amedee, Director, Ochsner Clinical School, and Carl Tholen, Vice President, Medical Education and Chief Administrative Officer, Ochsner Clinical School, are pleased to welcome you in-person into the UQ-Ochsner MD program. This event will be an opportunity to meet your Ochsner Medical Student Association (OMSA) representatives and network with your Year 1 and 2 UQ-Ochsner peers over a pizza party following official presentations.
This event has been conveniently scheduled straight after our Welcome to Brisbane activities, in the same location, so you can easily attend both sessions.

About MD Orientation 2025
Congratulations on reaching the next important stage of your medical education journey. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at our multiple clinical schools across Queensland.
We have put together a diverse schedule of activities to introduce you to the University, medical program and what to expect during your studies. Throughout the first four weeks, you will engage with key members of the Medical School community, including the Director of the Academy for Medical Education, the Directors of our Clinical Schools, as well as a broad range of academic and professional staff. Each of these people will play a key role in your learning and development as a future medical practitioner. There will also be opportunities to meet student representatives as well as other students in your cohort.
