Background

Dr. Charles Kantrow was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Credentials & Qualifications

Dr. Kantrow completed his pediatric residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital where he served as Pediatric Chief Resident. Dr. Kantrow received his board certification in pediatrics and has been on staff at Ochsner Medical Center since 1993.  He is the Medical Director of Ochsner’s Myelodysplasia team.

Research Interests

Dr. Kantrow’s special interests include caring for spina bifida patients, transplant patients, hospitalized children and infants, complex congenital diseases, and routine well child care. He is currently involved in PROS research network through the AAP doing studies affecting the care of Gen pediatric patients.

Best Part of My Job

The best part of my job is the mixture of patient care and teaching of medical students and House Staff. Both are extremely gratifying.
