About the event
Together with the Medical School, and the UQ Medical Society (UQMS) President, we are looking forward to officially welcoming you to the MD program.
This is a significant milestone and important event for all commencing MD students to attend.
This event is for all MD Year 1 students based at UQ St Lucia only.
Please arrive at 9:15am for a 9:30am start.
What to expect
Following the welcome event there will be morning tea as well as an MD Expo.
The Expo will be an opportunity for you to network with fellow students and talk to a range of University and Medical School teams and services, and various clubs and societies, including:

About MD Orientation 2026
Congratulations on reaching the next important stage of your medical education journey. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at our multiple clinical schools across Queensland.
We have put together a diverse schedule of activities to introduce you to the University, medical program and what to expect during your studies. Throughout the first 3 weeks, you will engage with key members of the Medical School community, including Directors of our Clinical Schools, as well as a broad range of academic and professional staff. . Each of these people will play a key role in your learning and development as a future medical practitioner. There will also be opportunities to meet student representatives as well as other students in your cohort.
