Dr Alexandra Pietsch
General Practice
Dr Alexandra Pietsch has just started working as a fellowed GP this year, after finishing her RACGP exams in 2020. She has a special interest in Women’s Health and is now dividing her week working between a General Practice clinic and Reproductive Health specialist clinic, both in Brisbane’s inner north. Ally has additional qualifications in paediatrics, family planning, and IUD insertion procedures which has enabled her to start working as a “GP with Special Interest (GPwSI)” early on in her career. When not at work, Ally loves to be outdoors with her family and crazy groodle (who is never tired).
Dr Lisa Major

Dr Lisa Major grew up building Lego and mechano, sewing cross stitch, loving puzzles and playing Operation in her childhood cubby house. She realised she had a passion for musculoskeletal anatomy and biomechanics during her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) degree which she completed top of her class at The University of Queensland. Her dream had always been to go on to do medicine and she completed her MBBS at The University of Queensland in 2013. The first time Lisa was in an orthopaedic theatre at the old Royal Children’s Hospital she realised this was how she wanted to spend her workday – putting people back together. Following her internship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and with the help of her senior orthopaedic surgery mentor she began working as a Principal House Officer in Orthopaedic Surgery. She completed four PHO years before being accepted onto the Orthopaedic Surgical training program and is currently in her third year of training. She has found that doing what you love makes working hard easy.
Lisa is currently enjoying a change of pace and is on maternity leave with her new baby girl but will return to training at the Greenslopes Hospital in February. She plans to work as an upper limb surgeon with an interest in microsurgery and shoulders. She would also love to have a role in leadership within an orthopaedic department as she knows how valuable it is to provide a workplace that prioritises training and a culture of enjoying coming to work every day.
