Opportunities for Medical Students to engage with high school students through teaching or mentoring through the SPARQ-ed programs

SPARQ-ed

  • Offering medical students opportunities to become an ‘Ambassador’ and engage with high school students while they are attending SPARQ-ed workshops (incursions or excursions).  They could assist SPARQ-ed teachers throughout the workshop or, alternatively, quickly visit and deliver a short (5-10 min) presentation about their journey and what they are currently studying/researching.  This would include the upcoming Research Apprentice events during Science Week – a flyer is attached.

  • Scholarly Project Group.  Potential for these groups to create a presentation suitable for high school students.  These presentations could potentially be made in a hybrid model allowing access for regional and remote students and teachers.
