About the UQ Summer Scholarships Program

UQ Medicine participates in the UQ Summer Research Scholarship ProgramThe UQ Summer Research Program gives students the opportunity to gain research experience working alongside some of the university’s leading academics and researchers. By participating, you’ll be able to extend your knowledge of an area of interest and develop your analytical skills, your ability to think critically, and your communication skills.

The program opens around June-July every year and offers scholarships for undergraduate students to engage in 6-10 week research projects from mid-November through to mid-February each year.

Students receive a scholarship of $300 per week and get to experience real research.

For supervisors and groups, it is an avenue to recruit potential future HDR students, current medical students interested in research, or to get a small research project undertaken.

Choosing a Project

Projects are located at our clinical schools and multiple sites throughout Brisbane, Ipswich, and a number of rural and remote area facilities throughout the rest of the state. Find out more about our clinical schools.

Application Process

Medical students will be emailed about our Summer Scholarships program when applications open.

Interested students will be able to apply online during the application submission period (normally July - August, every year).
