Brief synopsis:
We are conducting two systematic reviews: (1) examining Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) used in the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) oncology population and (2) examining If pre-treatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio or the lung immune prognostic index (LIPI) is associated with prognosis or predictive of response among adults with solid-organ malignancies (cancer), who receive immune checkpoint inhibitors. Each review requires team members to (1) screen/assess title and abstracts and then (2) full text articles against a set of pre-determined inclusion criteria to decide if the articles should move forward in the systematic review process.
We are seeking students to assist with the reviews, working alongside other project staff. The reviews use the Covidence online system, so the work can be performed from any location, on any device with an internet connection.
The workplan includes 4 phases. (1) An initial meeting or two with project staff to understand the process. (2) Individual screening of the articles. (3) Meetings with other reviewers to resolve any conflicting decisions about article inclusion. (4) Review and commenting on manuscript drafts for publication (if the student would like to be included as an author).
All work can be done remotely via video conference for meetings and web-access to Covidence.
Prerequisite skills: Basic understanding of study designs and ability to read published medical articles.
Time frame: Start as soon as 1 June 2021, work to be completed in following 4-5 weeks.
