Patient perceptions of doctors accessing digital information during general practice consultations
Anecdotally, patients have reported a dissatisfaction with their physician using online search engines such as Google to assist in medical decision making. Given the nature of general practice and the rapid expansion of medical knowledge, the modern physician is required to have advanced skills in accessing high-quality information. This is a mixed-methods study which aims to explored patients' perceptions of their doctors accessing digital information at the point of care. A survey of patients attending general practice will be followed by a series of semi-structured interviews.
