Brief synopsis:

People with intellectual and developmental disability experience numerous barriers to accessing hospital based healthcare. As a result, people with intellectual and developmental disability experience poor health outcomes and die earlier. This project aims to gain an in-depth understand the barriers people with intellectual and developmental disability experience using mixed methods. Using a co-design approach we will develop of tools, resources and training aimed at improving the accessibility of the health system. We will implement the tools, resources and training and evaluate their effectiveness at 5 pilot sites across Queensland.

We are able to work with students to tailor a project that meets their interests/skills and degree requirements.
