Dr Grace ME Pearson (she/her) is a qualified doctor who graduated from Bristol Medical School with distinction in 2017, and is currently working as a Specialty Doctor (SAS) in geriatric medicine at the Royal United Hospital, Bath. Grace completed her doctoral research at the University of Bristol, and now holds a PhD in undergraduate geriatric medicine education. Since completing her PhD, Grace has been working as a Clinical Lecturer in the Global Health and Ageing Research Unit (University of Bristol) and Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, co-developing a case and lecture teaching series in geriatrics for African medical schools and hospitals. She also co-founded a postgraduate teaching and mentorship network for early-career clinicians with an interest in geriatric medicine in Africa (the African Ageing and Geriatrics Network), and a network of UK educators to share examples of best practice in undergraduate geriatric medicine education (the Geriatric Medicine Educators Collaborative). Grace continues her work with the British Geriatrics Society as an Education and Training Representative and remains Lead for the ‘Complex Medicine in Older People’ clerkship at Bristol Medical School. Her educational research achievements have been recognised with Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and Membership of the Academy of Medical Educators.
