This session is dedicated to commencing MD international students, UQ-Ochsner students, and students joining us from interstate.
If you are new to Brisbane, please join us for an interactive information session with the MSST to have all your accommodation, finance and health insurance questions answered. This event will also be a great opportunity to:
- meet other international students in the MD program;
- ask any questions you may have about settling into Brisbane;
- try famous Aussie foods (and challenge your Aussie slang!); and
- cuddle a koala (yes, a real one)!
When: Thursday 6 February 2025, 3:30-5:30pm
Where: Room 120/121, ModWest Building (11A), St Lucia campus
Please keep in mind that you should always prioritise your teaching and learning activities.
We would recommend only attending this session providing that it does not conflict with your study commitments.
About MD Orientation 2025
Congratulations on reaching the next important stage of your medical education journey. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at our multiple clinical schools across Queensland.
We have put together a diverse schedule of activities to introduce you to the University, medical program and what to expect during your studies. Throughout the first four weeks, you will engage with key members of the Medical School community, including the Director of the Academy for Medical Education, the Directors of our Clinical Schools, as well as a broad range of academic and professional staff. Each of these people will play a key role in your learning and development as a future medical practitioner. There will also be opportunities to meet student representatives as well as other students in your cohort.
