Session 1: The changing face of the physician from antiquity to beyond

Join us on Friday 10 August for the inaugural lecture of the Out of the Box Series.
Our first speaker, Professor Alastair Blanshard, examines the rise and development of the medical profession in Greece and then Rome, a story of significant advances and terrible miscalculations. He also explores some of the key ideas in ancient medicine and how they influenced the practice of healing in the modern world.
