About the Darling Downs - South West Medical Pathway

Our shared vision is to offer regionally-based end-to-end medical education and training pathways in the Darling Downs and South-West.

This includes immersive, innovative and engaging pre-medical, medical, pre-vocational and vocational training programs. The success of our endeavours will be a positive, sustained improvement in the health outcomes for our communities through the creation of a medical workforce with the skills and commitment to establish long-term careers in the Darling Downs and South-West Regions.

 

Why study through the Darling Downs - South West Medical Pathway?

  • Obtain two qualifications – Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Medicine Pathway) (BBMP) and Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • Articulate directly from BBMP to MD programs (no additional applications)*

Undergraduate/Provisional entry

Students have the option to study the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Medicine Pathway) immediately after Year 12. This program directly articulates to The University of Queensland’s Doctor of Medicine program. Please ensure you read admissions requirements in detail.

Graduate entry

Students completing undergraduate studies through other pathways, or who already have a degree which includes the prerequisites, are able to apply to The University of Queensland’s Doctor of Medicine through GAMSAT for the Graduate Entry Pathway. Please ensure you read admissions requirements in detail.

Career pathways

Undertake internship, work through your Junior Doctor years and enter regional vocational and pre-vocational career pathways.
